Lies. More and more of it. Like a deck made of cards. Hiding the truth. Always. Do we lie to protect ourselves and the ones we love? Or is it because it’s easier than telling the truth? The truth that you know is going to hurt?– Aathira Jim, Bewitched by Words
It isn’t easy to say the truth but truth is what needs to be said. We can not run away from what reality is, we can escape it by telling ourselves and others a million stories about it but deep inside, we know what the truth is.
Sometimes, people are not ready for the truth, people have made themselves believe that truth is a lie – They tell us stories made up by them about us , about our lives and how should we live it but do they even know themselves ?
“Your whole idea about yourself is borrowed-borrowed from those who have no idea of who they are themselves.”
Maybe,we should stop asking people about our own lives, stop seeing ourselves through other people’s keyhole, stop assessing ourselves in parameters society build for us, our truth is different from their truth.
“I am self-propelled; fueled from within. I appreciate people’s opinions, but I’m not attached to them. I learned a long time ago that if I give them the power to feed me, I also give them the power to starve me.”
Our lives have become piles and piles of lies that have been told to us over a number of years which eventually becomes our truth . We’ve all been told harsh things about ourselves, ridiculed for being too honest ,too straightforward or too emotional . We’ve all had that one person who never approved of us, no matter how good we were. We’ll never be loved and appreciated by everyone. To desire is to destruct yourself.
Stop pleasing people. When you give them the power to make you happy, you also give the power to make you cry.
The most destructive things I’ve ever done is believe someone else’s opinions of me – Teal Blue Jay
