Book Review : The Best Seller She Wrote

Aditya Kapoor seems to have it all. Not only is he India s hottest and bestselling author, his enormous stardom is perfectly balanced by a lovely home, a loving wife and a stable career in banking. With everything he touches turning to gold, Aditya is on a winning streak. Shreya Kaushik is a student with a heart full of big dreams. Young, beautiful, and ambitious, Shreya speaks her mind and knows what she wants.

What happens when their worlds collide? Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Can ambition come in the way of passion?

The Bestseller… She Wrote is a story of illicit love, destructive jealousy and overriding ambition. As master story-teller Ravi Subramanian delves into the world of publishing and explores an unlikely romance between a bestselling author and his nubile protégé, faces will be unmasked and truths will be revealed

About the Author

Ravi Subramanian, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore, has spent two decades working his way up the ladder of power in the amazingly exciting and adrenaline-pumping world of global banks in India. It is but natural that his stories are set against the backdrop of the financial services industry. In 2008, his debut novel, If God Was a Banker, won the Golden Quill Reader s Choice Award. He won the Economist Crossword Book Award in 2012 for The Incredible Banker and the Crossword Book Award in 2013 for The Bankster. His most recent novel is Bankrupt. He lives in Mumbai with his wife, Dharini, and daughter, Anusha.

My Review 3.5

The Story begins like a Typical Chetan Bhagat Novel but as you flip on pages, it isn’t. Not a wonderful Romance , but worth reading if you are travelling to kill time. I haven’t read any of his Thrillers which have been blockbusters but got a chance to read his first attempt at Romance Writing.

The Movie like Novel. The story of a falling man, the one who falls for another woman. It reminded me of Fashion Movie, the end of all glamourous things is indeed scary. He has added all flavours required for a book to be worth reading, It has the thrill , romance, emotions and lessons we all need to learn in life. We are living in an Era where opportunities are unlimited. We are given the Illusion that we can become everything we want to become. But that’s certainly not True. We can become what we want to become but we can not b everything.

The mad race for fame and money has also taken over the Creativity Domain. More than half of the people who dream about writing books do it solely for the purpose of fame and money. Very few do it to inspire others. Many of us want our Debut Novel to be  Best Seller and that in itself is insane , purely insane. ART was never for serving others. It is for itself. Art for Arts Sake is what the Author has tried to implement through his Novel – The Best Seller She Wrote.
